The Science Park is a rapidly developing area that already offers office space for many different needs. Turku is known for its business friendliness and the employment rate in the area is high. The mixed cityscape brings the area to life at different times of the day and, combined with the commercial space on the ground floors of the buildings, creates excellent opportunities for service companies.
A unique ecosystem of cooperation
At the Science Park, you will be part of a growing ecosystem that drives growth across the region. The atmosphere of collaboration and innovation supports and promotes networking between companies. Close cooperation with the region’s educational institutions provides a skilled workforce.
Versatile office space and plots
The Science Park area offers office space and plots for business activities. The Science Park is already an attractive area. The development of the area will diversify the business structure, increase density and boost productivity. The aim is to create new opportunities for companies to establish themselves in the growing Science Park area.
The city owns a significant part of the land, which will be developed through zoning and the Kupittaa Core Partnership Project. Some of the land is privately owned. Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt owns approximately 160,000 m2 of office and laboratory premises that are leased in Turku Science Park.
The Science Park will become an internationally attractive, 24/7 vibrant centre of excellence. Discover the vision.
The Kupittaa Core project is the heart of the Science Park, linking Kupittaa and Itäharju into a coherent whole. Find out more about the project.
The universities in the Science Park area consistently produce highly skilled labour in a wide range of fields. In addition, the region attracts highly educated
residents, increasing the supply of skilled labour and boosting purchasing power.
The Science Park is located close to good transport links. The eventual completion of the tramway and The West Railway will further improve connections, making the area easily accessible from both the city centre and the metropolitan area.
Kupittaa Core supports business development
The amendment of the Kupittaa Core detailed plan and the related investments will significantly support the business conditions in the area and have a positive impact on the attractiveness of Turku. Around 8,500 jobs are expected to be created in the area, most of which are expected to be entirely new. The availability of skilled labour is already good and will become excellent.
The development will create a variety of attractive locations for consumer goods and services companies, as well as a large number of attractive premises for professional work. A total of 120,000 m2 of new office space has been earmarked for the tip and more than 3,000 new residents are expected to move into the area.
